Privacy

This site doesn't require an account. We only get personal data, like your name or email address, if you send it yourself: by signing up for updates, through the contact form, in Unsent and in a song dedication.

YouTube. Songs play through the YouTube player, which only loads when you press play. From then on, Google's (YouTube's) privacy policy applies.

Email updates. If you sign up for updates, we only store your email address, the sign-up date and your country (on Cloudflare, which also runs this site), so we can tell you about new songs and merch. Your address is never shared with anyone. You can unsubscribe anytime, from any email or right here:

Contact form. When you write through the form, your name, email and message go straight to the Texts After Midnight inbox (through Cloudflare, which also runs this site). They aren't stored on the site, are only used to reply to you and are never shared with anyone. If you allow your story to be used as inspiration for a song, your name is never published. To delete a message, email contact@textsaftermidnightmusic.com.

Unsent. Messages are anonymous. We store the message text, the name or nickname it's addressed to, the song, the time and the country, plus a one-way hash of the IP address (the address can't be recovered from it) to prevent abuse. Every message is read before it goes up, and reactions are counted anonymously. To remove a posted message, email contact@textsaftermidnightmusic.com.

Dedicate a song. A dedication (the recipient's name, the message, the sender's name if you add it, and the song) is stored on Cloudflare so the link works. Dedications aren't public and don't show up in search engines: only someone with the link can see them. We also record when the letter is first opened, so the sender can see it. The recipient can report a dedication, which hides it. To delete one, email contact@textsaftermidnightmusic.com.
